Mark Knight and his family had the Number One basket of peaches at Saturday's Chilton County Peach Festival Auction. It was the ninth year in a row that M & M Farms has won the blue ribbon. The peaches sold at auction to Marion Bank and Trust for $4,600.00. Left to right are: Andrea, Alissa, Mark and Melissa Knight.

Mary Henning Dale was named 2016 Little Miss Peach and Casual Wear Winner. Her court includes: Lexi-Kate Hayes, First Alternate; Leelah Penley, Second Alternate; Dori Lawrence, Third Alternate and Coloring Contest Winner; and Maggie Harrison, Fourth Alternate.

The annual Peach Run was held Saturday, June 18, at Cornerstone Fitness in Clanton. The winners in each age division were presented with baskets of Chilton County peaches.

Back row, left to right: Wayne Morrow, Patti Preston, Troy Goss, Affie Martin, Javion Johnson, Kyle Fluker, Esther Kim, Charlotte Harley, Sharon Melton, Penny Gregg, Kelly McNair, overall 5K female winner, and Andrew Elam, overall 5K male winner.

10K winners included: Preston Masters, Janie Mothershed, West Marcus, Samantha Sims, Don Bridgers, Billy Rose, Olivia Blackmon, Douglas Mims, Garry Newton, Zach Ridgway, overall 10K male winner; and Stephanie Ridgway, overall 10K female winner.

The 2016 Chilton County Peach Festival Cook-Off was held Saturday morning, June 18. In the Youth Division, the winners were, left to right: Alli Kate Calhoun, First Place; Rachel Glasscock, Second Place; and Abbi Calhoun, Third Place.

In the Senior Division, the winners were: Sarah Saunders, First Place; Patsy Ratliff, Second Place; and Madeline Swindle, Third Place.


Megan Liveoak won First Place in the Adult Division of the Peach Festival Art Show. She also won Honorable Mention. Gloria Ronayne won Second Place and Tommy Crumpton won Third Place.
In the Junior Division, Aiden Turner won First Place and Honorable Mention. Luke Turner won Second Place and Charlotte Blencowe won Third Place.

The art is on display in the main lobby of Peoples Southern Bank in downtown Clanton through Wednesday, June 22. The public is invited to go by the bank and view all the entries in the Art Show.
